The Boeing Company (Boeing), acting through its Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T)advanced research, technology and innovation organization awarded HITCO Carbon Compositesa task to fabricate three 5.2 meter non-autoclave processed wing spars as part of Non-AutoclaveManufacturing Technology, which is a program jointly accomplished by a Boeing-led team andthe U.S. Government (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Defense Science Office,DARPA/DSO) under the guidance of the U.S. Air Force through FA8650-07-2-7716. This papercovers training, fabrication of the part with Cycom~?5320-1 prepreg materials, part quality, andlessons learned.
