AN IMPLEMENTATION OF TECHNOLOGY READINESS LEVELS

Technology Readiness Assessments (TRAs) are now a part of the information required by theMilestone Decision Authority (MDA) to proceed on large U.S. Government programs. TRAsare used to both understand technology maturity and to understand program risk. A processdescription is provided in the DoD Technology Readiness Assessment Deskbook1. This paperdescribes an application of the process and the resulting modifications made to the process inorder to produce objective and repeatable TRAs.
