摘要

Polymer composite materials reinforced by nanoparticles have excellent properties. However,obstacles still exist to block the introduction of nanoparticles to polymer matrix composites in aneffective way during the process of vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM). In aneffort to improve the dispersion of carbon nanofibers (CNF) in polymer matrix composites, theeffect of spraying CNF over carbon woven fabrics is investigated. A process development andcharacterization of the molded carbon nanofibers reinforced polymer composites using VARTMis presented in this paper. The molded composite structure consists of AS4-5 harness carbonfabrics, carbon nanofibers (CNF) (Polygraf Ⅲ), and a high temperature polymer (Cycom 5250-4-RTM).
