In wireless communication, cooperative communication can be voted as a best promising technique to enhance system reliability and performances. In Visible Light Communication (VLC) system, with the limitation of transmission range and Field Of View (FOV), cooperative communication shows more advantages in reliability and coverage. This article proposes a new MAC protocol for LED-ID system improving the overall the network reliability by using cooperative communication. Here, the use of cooperation has two motivations: latency reduction and on-demand error recovery. We focus our work on cooperative concept for LED-ID system, efficient algorithm to discovery a relay node. The mathematical analysis and simulation results show that proposed scheme increases the overall reliability of the LED-ID system.
