The treatment of chromium containing wastewater using flyash and modified flyash as adsorbents was studied. The effects of time, pH, the dosage of absorbents, initial concentration on the removal of Cr (VI) in wastewater were discussed. The results showed that the modified flyash has a better efficiency on the removal of Cr (VI). The removal rate of Cr (VI) is 97.52% under the conditions of the pH=1.0, adsorption time of 90 minutes and quantity of modified flyash of 2g. Absorption treatment of wastewater containing chromium with modified flyash satisfied Langmuir isotherm and Freundlich equation with physical process as major adsorption.
