In order to explore an economic, rational, practical method of saline water desalination, this paper mainly uses freeze saline water purification method of experimental study for the exploitation and utilization of natural cold resource. According to the freezing points of water condensate theory, the authors have made cryogenic pilot studies for saline water. we carried out the freezing experiment under conditions of using cryogenic refrigerator at −5¼ and −10¼, results show that the freezing method has a good removal effect for the excessive ion in saline water, salinity, fluoride, chlorine, sulphate and total hardness removal efficiency respectively reaches 87%, 92%, 89%, 82%, 83%. Through the experimental analysis, we can find that using natural cold resource to desalinate has some merit, such as low-power consumption, less pollution, corrosion and scaling light, economic, and easy. Through experiments, it is feasible that using natural cold resource dilutes saline water under the conditions of −5¼ to −10 ¼, and can apply to large-scale saline water area with plenty of natural cold resource.
