Effect of floor constitution on insulation performance gainst impact sound in timber framed building

摘要

According to the regulations on building construction standards in Korea, the insulation performance against impact sound between every adjacent floors in apartment house should not be exceeding 58dB for light impact sound generated by relatively light and hard impact source, and should not be 50dB for heavy impact sound generated by heavy and soft impact source. Though this is related to the satisfaction for habitability of dwellers and is applied widely regardless of structure type, it is commonly thought that Korean requirements for heavy impact sound is significantly strict considering that the loosened regulations are used for timber framed buildings in other countries. Related to this point, it is considered that preparation of design and construction technique for timber framed floor meeting the current regulation is necessary, in company with the effort of providing the more reasonable regulation on sound insulation performance for timber buildings.
