Mechanical expression of diaphragm type air spring can be summarized based on the engineering thermodynamics theory and the geometry, material and contact nonlinear mechanical characteristics of the air spring is theoretically studied, which helps to be gained the treatment method in FE. The finite element model is built in terms of the FEM and the elastic characteristics of air spring is analyzed and calculated. Through the comparison with the results of the experiment, conclusion of the research can be got that the load capacity of air spring becomes reinforced with the increase of the air pressure of the air spring. Besides, the pressure, the effective area and the volume of the air spring are varies with the change of displacement and present nonlinear property.
