New organometallic catalysts have been developed that promote the reaction of hydroxyl functional polymers with isocyanate cross-linking agents used in CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers) urethane applications. These catalysts are particularly effective as environmentally friendly alternatives to tin and mercury catalysts. The performance characteristics that these new catalysts can contribute include selective catalysis, hydrolytic stability, enhanced pot life in coatings and exceptional reaction profiles in non-coating applications.
