Using finite element method (F.E.M) to study polyphase mixture flow (atmospheric air + flue gas + coal dust) by burner of coal dust of a high-powered boiler, allows calculation of the movement dynamics of coal dust particles, determining the density and mass flow along the channel to exit through the slit burner in the boiler. It can cause changes in velocity, temperature and pressure burner channels, areas of the fluid path, which promotes turbulent flow of the mixture analyzed. Following the analysis, conclusions can be drawn on how it was designed for burning coal dust and identify technical solutions that can be applied to the redesign of coal dust burners boilers older generations to be subject to rehabilitation and modernization.
