摘要

On-Site distributed energy systems are gaining in popularity due to a variety of technologies and reduced barriers to entry. The value proposition for installing combined heating and power (CHP) is greater now than ever before. A number of reasons justify the technical, financial, and business motivation to choose CHP for meeting the power, cooling, and heating needs of buildings. Every building that currently pays for natural gas and electricity should perform a financial feasibility study to verify the payback period for a CHP retrofit. More often than not, the exiting budget for natural gas and grid electricity is enough to justify a transition to CHP. With the optimal investment business model in place, a tax paying special purpose company take advantage of current investment policies regarding CHP investments to fund, own and operate the CHP while saving the host building money.
