Input of 'All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials' in restovration of V. Mukhina's sculpture «Worker and Kolkhoz Woman»

From April 2006 till December 2007, with resumption of works in May 2009, a collective of VIAM in the number of 25 persons, half of them were young engineers and scientists, worked at fulfillment of technical tasks, connected with the restoration. Conclusion about the technical condition of casing "was drawn up, with specifying of fragments, which must be replaced under restoration. There appeared about 10% of those fragments of the whole amount. By the results of investigation, carried out by VIAM a decision was taken about a possibility to restore the sculpture. Products of corrosion, but also difficult to remove surface contamination because of long-term industrial emissions were removed from the surface of the sculpture case, using a specific patented corrosion-resistant VPT-1 paste ,which was manufactured in amount of 1200kg at the special experimental productional shop of the institute
