Association of lightning with rainfall and wet bulb temperature is investigated based on a four-year (2004–2007) data set. It is found that annual variations of stroke count and rainfall are bimodal. The first peak activity of rainfall lags by one month from the occurrence of the first peak stroke count. They very well co-vary since the occurrence of second peak in September onwards. Lightning stroke count is linearly related to the wet bulb temperature (r = 0.788, significant at better than 0.05%).
