摘要

Traditional Japanese farmhouses or rural houses called Minka have a similar basic structure. However, unique styles have been developed in different parts of Japan, sometimes as adaptations to local climatic and living conditions. Minka built before World War II must have been depended upon the local forest resources. That's why the way of using wood timber with Minka can be an indicator for the state of local forest resources. In this study, the Minka built 80 years ago on the foot of Mt. Ishizuchi which is the religious site from ancient times as well as the highest mountain in the west Japan were investigated. From this, it is found that the relationship between the volume of wood timber and the number of wood species using Minka and the local forest resources.
