Recently, various types of hybrid brides have been proposed and have been actually constructed. Steel-plate-inserted glulam hybrid bridge combined square steel tube deck is also proposed as one of them. This type of hybrid bridge dramatically improves bending stiffness, additionally improves workability efficiency at construction site and economy. In this study we introduced the square steel tube-timber hybrid bridge whose construction actually has been planned and the technologies used for its design. This bridge has two joints due to transportation limitations and workability. To investigate strength performance of bridge of this type and its joints and workability, we made a partial real-scale model with a joint in the center, and conducted four-point bending test. This paper presented the results that we numerically and experimentally accessed strength property of it.
