摘要

The network throughput will decrease dramaticallyand collision rate increases severely when active nodes increasein WLAN. Breaking through the limitation of the BinaryExponential Backoff algorithms, we provide a new backoffalgorithm which utilizes the linear contention window based onthe node numbers. To attain better performance, we derivethat the contention window is selected as an approximatelinear function of number of active nodes. Consequently, forlarge number of nodes, the collision probability is independentof contention window and the node numbers. The theoreticalanalysis and simulation results show that the algorithm canmaintain the network throughput effectively.
