Monitoring and protection system of roadheader cutting motor based on CAN bus

In order to protect effectively a cutting motor of part-face roadheader, raise its working reliability and using life, a monitoring andprotection system of roadheader cutting motor based on CAN bus is designed in the paper, it consists of detection system and alarm system, communication lines, host computer, etc., with over-current, overheating, leakage, breaking the seam protection, it can measure on-line and monitor real-time and protect effectively the cutting motor, lay a foundation for developing automatic roadheader and tunneling face without man. Keywords - part-face roadheader; cutting motor; monitor; protection; system A cutting motor is a power source of a cutting mechanism on part-face roadheader, because its condition and status relate to whether the machine can properly cutting and impact directly on the productivity of the machine, it is great significance to monitor and protect effectively the cutting motor for improving the machine reliability and service life[1-5]. A monitoring system aimed at on-line measurement and real-time monitoring and effective protection of the cutting motor is put forward based on CAN bus in the paper.
