With modern digital substations established, a great number of secondary equipments are connected into the Smart Grid. The types and quantities of traffic are exponential increasing in the electric power communication networks. New electronic techniques, communication techniques and digital signal processing techniques must be employed to achieve this challenge. Integrating MPLS and DiffServ, the paper gives a novel IP QoS algorithm for electric power communication networks in Smart Grid-MDSG With MDSG second equipments and dispatching centre can provided guarantee service for IP QoS and fast forward packets. Moreover, the algorithm can make the resource globally optimal. So congestion occurred at local node can be avoided and the capability of networks' transmission is more enhanced. Finally the paper proves that the algorithm is feasible and preferable by computer simulation.
