Finite element model parameter estimation through sequential data assimilation from 3-D digital image correlation analysis of concrete uniaxial compression tests
Finite element simulation of concrete is known for its complexityowing to its highly non-linear behavior. Numerical simulation ofconcrete tests, often uses idealized boundary conditions, whichare different from actual experimental conditions. In order toensure the fidelity of the finite element model used there is arequirement to find the model parameters associated with thematerial properties and boundary condition. The current studyinvolves using the data assimilation technique to estimate thefinite element model parameters for a concrete specimensubjected to uniaxial compression using 3-D digital imagecorrelation (3-D DIC).
