A 3D design package can contain many functions for making the design process more efficient and accurate. At the same time the level of complexity of the program might become quite high and although the system contains the necessary functionality, the designer can face difficulties in finding the functions needed for a given discipline. This generates the need for intuitive applications which implements the domain knowledge needed for performing the design process, for instance related to a given ship type. ClassNK developed an application called "ClassNK Manager" together with Napa Group in 2009. The application has being used by ship designers for performing statutory compliance calculations based on NAPA 3D model and creating Intact/Damage Stability Booklets and Loading Manuals for Bulk Carriers and Tankers. ClassNK has been continuing the development of the applications in tight collaboration with several Japanese shipyards and with Napa Group. As an outcome, the new version of application could enhance the usability and practicality in real design work by incorporating designers' point of view. This paper focuses on the demonstrating the application which contains newly developed practical tools for designers such as; 1. Quick generation of longitudinal strength limit curve for the structural design based on actual loading conditions 2. Automatic creation of the homogenous loading conditions 3. Grain stability assessment process including modelling, calculation and generation of reports.
