Equipment manufacturing industry is the basic industry of national economy development, and the technological innovation is the key factor to constrain the development of the equipment manufacturing industry in China, so the analysis and evaluation of the technological innovation ability of the equipment manufacturing industry is important for the economic development. This paper introduces the DEA/AHP model to the evaluation field of the technological innovation ability and combines the model with the evaluation index system, which is based on the industry characteristics of the equipment manufacturing industry to evaluate its industrial technological innovation ability. According to the contrast of innovation efficiency of various industries in equipment manufacturing industry, it reflects the practical efficiency of the industrial technological innovation. Then we construct the AHP judgment matrix, which avoids the subjectivity of judgment matrix. And on the basis of a single level of AHP, we evaluate the industrial technological innovation ability based on the maximum eigenvalue the corresponding eigenvector. At last, according the evaluation results, we obtain the ordering of technological innovation ability of Equipment manufacturing industry, and put up some suggestion to enhance their technological innovation ability.
