A Survey of Indexing Techniques for Efficient Retrieval of Content-based Temporal Patterns

Temporal Data mining is concerned with analysing large volumes of ordered or sequential data. There are a large number of algorithms proposed for the discovery of temporal patterns. With the ever increasing volume of data and efficiency of newer and better algorithms, the number of generated patterns can be large. This leads to non-triviality of selecting the patterns to analyze. Hence, there is a need for algorithms and tools that can assist in the easier and faster selection of discovered patterns. These selected patterns can then be analysed in an efficient manner. In this paper, we present a survey of indexing techniques which can be used to optimize the storage and retrieval of a large collection of relative temporal patterns.
