Here we present work on the effect of an electric field on superconductivity in the recently discovered [1] graphite intercalation compound (GIC) CaC_6 with a T_cof 11.5 K. In a transistor-like geometry, the application of voltage to a gate contact produces a significant drop in the critical current and a reduction of superconducting transition temperature.
