Carbon foams (CF) with unique structure and properties are of potential in many fields. Here we report on the preparation of T-type zeolite/CF composites that were prepared by carbonizing polyurethane foam impregnated with a mixture of polyamic acid and T-type zeolite. The carbonization was conducted at 700 °C. The as-made samples were examined using SEM, XRD and N_2 sorption techniques. It has been found that the foam-like monolith consists of open cells with an average size of ca. 500 urn, and t-type zeolites are anchored on the cell walls of the foams with their structure remain unchanged even after heat treatment at 700 °C. The N_2 sorption analysis reveales that the zeolite/CF is microporous and has a narrow size distribution centering at 0.45 nm, of which the BET surface area is 328 m~2·g~(-1).
