Studied area is located around of Hamandan-Asadabad road. The aim of this research is to study the effects of road deicing salt on the quality of the region’s ground water resources during the winter season. A sample of thirty wells was selected and each month one sample of each well was taken. In this study, the water wells qualities including Cl-, Na+, Electrical Conductivity (EC), Total Dissolved Solid (TDS), Total Hardness (TH), Total Coliform (TC) and Fecal Coliform (FC) were measured. The relationship between the wells’ distance from the road axis with other dependent variables were analyzed with the Pearson correlation coefficient. The wells in the southern side of the road, whose their distance from the road axis is less than 400 meters, there is a negative correlation between TDS of well water and well’s distance with the road axis (r= -0.362,p=0.001), there is a negative correlation between the amount of TH of well water and well distance with the road’s axis(r= -0.420, p=0.001), there is negative correlation between the amount of Na+ of well water and the well’s distance with the road’s axis(r= -0.194, p=0.019), there is a negative correlation between the Cl- of well water and the well’s distance with road axis(r= -0.286, p=0.001), and finally there is a negative correlation between EC of well water and well distance with road axis(r= -0.362, p=0.001). With due regard to the limited water resources in Hamadan province and according to the results of this research, it is recommended that to prevent from salinization of ground waters of the region, constrains be applied in using salt for roads and streets deicing salt.
