The core of engineering consciousness is the consciousness of practice. The engineering consciousness , with rich contents and wide range, comprises the thoughts of integrating theory with practice, making concrete analysis of concrete conditions, aiming at solving engineering problems, which also comprises the sense and ability to proactively recognize the practical engineering procedure, background and condition. The training of the engineering consciousness enables people guide their action through the idea, knowledge and plan drawn from the reality, and makes the action be purposeful, guiding and predictable. The engineering consciousness training focuses on the thoughts cultivation with a clear thinking and strict logic. Due to the wide range of knowledge and many aspects of engineering practices, an obviously clear and strict thinking is needed in the teaching and expatiating , to guide students grasp the engineering thinking mode and form the application link of the engineering knowledge. Therefore, the engineering consciousness education is of very important meaning to the cultivation of the future civil engineers. On the basis of main issues and measures such as the importance of the engineering consciousness education, the phenomenon of the lack of engineering consciousness reflected in the graduation design of the civil engineering major, the cultivation of the engineering consciousness in the graduation design, this paper discusses and researches the cultivation of the engineering consciousness in the university education.
