Study on Economic Incentive Mechanisms for Promoting the Application of Renewable Energy in Construction

Application of renewable energy can effectively reduce the consumption of fossil energy;it will not only produce large economic benefit, but also bring favorable environmental benefit. However, resulted from lacking of effective incentive mechanism, the proportion of applying renewable energy in construction is still very low. On the basis of learning from advanced experiments of developed countries, through analyzing the problems arising from the application of renewable energy in construction, this paper identifies the key problems. Depending on the theories of sustainable development and green building, addressing the solution on external problems as the main object, this paper analyses and designs incentive principles, objects, methods and steps, proposes the incentive methods for different levels of both central and local governments, which directed forward mnltifaceted subjects, such as real estate development companies, manufacturing enterprises, housing consumers, R&D enterprises and intermediary service organizations. The study result provides foundations for constituting and implementing economic incentive policy on applying renewable energy in construction in China.
