This research was conducted to examine the in-plane monotonic and cyclic shear behaviour ofa novel form of composite wall consisting of two skins of profiled steel sheets and an infill concrete. Thisnew walling system is expected to have application in steel framed building as shear elements to carrylateral loads. The experimental and numerical modeling of composite walls were performed to generateinformation on shear load - deformation response, strength, stiffness and energy absorbing capacity. Testresults of two composite wall specimens tested under monotonic and cyclic loading conditions were usedto develop and validate numerical models using the ABAQUS finite element (FE) software. Thedeveloped numerical models were then used to conduct parametric studies to evaluate the influence ofmaterial and geometric aspects of the wall. The developed FE models are found to be capable ofsimulating the in-plane shear behaviour of composite wall.
