Several polymer types were identified for use in the specific conditions of the Moon's surface. Different fabrics were tested in two abrasion tests targeting three wear mechanisms, namely, large sliding on rocks, small sliding (rolling) on rocks, and small sliding (rolling) on sand. The fabrics were representative of different geometrical structures, dimensions and materials.
