King County Wastewater Treatment Division(WTD)provides wastewater handling and treatment services to 17 cities and 17 local sewer utilities in the central Puget Sound region.The WTD system serves about 1.4 million people,including most urban areas of King County,parts of South Snohomish County and North Pierce County representing a service area of approximately 420 square miles.The system includes four(4)treatment facility plants;West Point,South Plant,Carnation and Vashon,42 pumping stations,19 regulator stations and approximately 335 miles of sewer piping.The system handles in excess of 1.3 billion gallons per year.WTD is currently responsible for over $3.8 billion dollars of replaceable assets,and by 2010 our assets will reach over $5.3 billion dollars in value.
