Security Issues in Drinking Water Distribution Networks

This paper formulates the security problem of sensor placement in water distributionnetworks for contaminant detection. An initial attempt to develop a problem formulation ispresented, suitable for mathematical analysis and design. Multiple risk-related objectives areminimized in order to compute the Pareto front of a set of possible solutions; the consideredobjectives are the contamination impact average, worst-case and worst-cases average. A multi- multiobjectiveoptimization methodology suitable for considering more that one objective function isobjective examined and solved using a multiple-o objective evolutionary algorithm.
