摘要

UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) network will permit to give support to the subscribers for performing any kind of communication without restriction in the service area. In view of mutual complementary feature of wide coverage and high data rate, the inter-working between 3G mobile network and WiFi network is a global trend of wireless communications. We will plan to provide the service of the 3G-WiFi convergence in dual-mode mobile phone based USIM. In this paper, we analyze an authentication mechanism for UMTS Security and an authentication method for 3GPP-WiFi inter-working by USIM (Universal Subscriber Identity Module) based. Also, to avoid the synchronization failure, we propose the method of SQN (sequence number) management for UMTS-WiFi converged networks.
