Reducing GHG emissions from maritime transport on a global scale

In December 2009 Copenhagen will be hosting the 15th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. In 2012 the Kyoto Protocol to prevent climate change expires and the UN body's aim will be to renew the Protocol. Politicians turn their attention also to maritime transport which has been exempted from the reduction goals of the Kyoto Protocol.
