Analysis of Energy Flow and Its Modeling in Integrated Steelworks

The process of energy flow in integrated steelworks consists of the production, conversion, distribution, using of various energies and the waste gas emission. The research on energy flow in steelworks is highly beneficial to energies saving and emission reduction. Unit product based, the energy flow diagram was designed at a process level. Through the analysis on the 6 energy streams of the energy flow diagram, the importance of residual heat and energy recovery was summarized. Then the energy flow diagram and mathematic model for whole steelworks were constructed. According to the input-output balance, the expression of energy efficiency (ηe) and that of energy environment efficiency (qe) were deduced, and the major factors that affect the above two efficiencies were also discussed. In addition, the change of energy consumption was analyzed, which was influenced by change of energy flow, especially the change of residual heat and energy recovery.
