Unique SXF TM semi semi-cross flow scrubbers utilizing vers versatile design options unavailable with'traditional' scrubbers will be discussed. Such designs are made possible by use of KON KON-TANE(R)Structured tower packing, specific surface area 150 ft 2/ft /3 (500 m 2/m /3), in modular cassettes), followed by B-GON(R) mist captur capture technology.E SXF TM scrubbers meet numerous air emission control requirements with no loss of efficiency versuscounter counter-current flow scrubbers. Theoretical as well as practical explanations of achievement ofscrubbing efficiency in the horizontal flow re regime equivalent to counter gime counter-current design will bepresented. Multiple air emission control needs and other process functions including particulatecapture, direct contact heat transfer transfer, odor removal and acid gas control are all easily accomplishedin a sin single scrubber vessel.Gle AEROSEP TM particle growth technology submicron particles can be grown to 1+ micron in thesame scrubbing vessel, to allow for easy scrubbing of the aerosols.Example comparative design and actual project such as achievement of < 20 mg/Nm 3 Urea duststack emission, which equates to 99.98% efficiency in the given project, combined with ammoniascrubbing in a single vessel at a fertil fertilizer facility are discussed.
