Application of Wavelet Transform in Electrocardiogram Signal Denoising

The electrocardiogram signals may mix various noises when they are gothered and recorded.The traditional denoising methods such as Fourier transform have obvious drawbacks in processing the non-stationary signals. But Wavelet transform can effectively eliminate noises by its good time-frequency characteristics of the local area.In this paper, international standards ECG database MIT/BIH was used to validate the algorithm. The experimental results show that the electrocardiogram signal denoised by wavelet transform can effectively retain the pinnacle and mutation of signal and embody the original signal’s character as soon as possible, the denoised result is better.
