The simulated experiments are generally adopted to study the control performance of earth-pressure-balance system of shield machine economically and safely. But,the range and strength of simulated experiments are usually restricted by the physical conditions of simulated system. In this study, the simulation model of earth-pressure-balance simulated system of shield machine was established based on the theory of power bond graphs. The parameters of simulation model were estimated by using experimental data measured from simulated system. The contrast experiments confirmed that the simulation results on simulation model are basically in agreement with the test results on simulated system. The simulation model is able to represent the simulated system. Also, the experiments on simulation model proved that the range and strength of simulated experiments is expanded and increased by regulating the parameters of simulation model. This provides a new means for performance analysis and optimization design of earth-pressure-balance system of shield machine.
