The pressure of shortage of papermaking materials can be released to some extent with the application of cotton stalk in pulping and papermaking industry.In this paper,some parameters on the refining processes of cotton stalk semi-chemical pulps prepared with low-temperature cooking and continuous cooking were discussed,including disk gap,refining time,effect of refining concentration and beating degree on the physical properties of pulps,etc.Also,the cotton stalk semi-chemical pulp was used to make strong corrugated paper with OCC.The results show that the physical properties of low-temperature cooked cotton stalk semi-chemical pulp are better than that of continuously cooked cotton stalk semi-chemical pulp.The pulps with good strength properties and drainability (beating degree of 27~29°SR)are obtained through reasonable disk gap,refining time and medium refining concentration.The quality of strong corrugated paper made from 20% OCC and cotton stalk semi-chemical pulp can arrive at A-level national standard.
