摘要

Due to the variations in opacity and brightness of the peroxide bleached pulp at Mazandaran Wood and Paper Industries Company(MWPI),this study was conducted to develop empirical models in order to predict CMP pulp brightness and opacity from peroxide bleaching conditions and subsequently to determine the optimum operating conditions.To tackle the inconsistency problem,multi-variate regression analysis method was used for building models.The models were then validated using new data set from the bleaching plant at MWPI,assessing models' predictive ability and performance.The results show there is a relationship between bleaching variables and such dependent variables as pulp brightness and opacity.In addition to hydrogen peroxide charge and pulp initial brightness,pulp initial opacity had a statistically significant reverse effect on the final CMP pulp brightness.It was also found that the concentration of Total Na+ in CMP tower was the most important variable affecting the final pulp opacity.The validation results demonstrated that these models can be employed as useful tools for process optimization purposes.
