Soil Arching Effect of Slope Reinforced with Anti-slide Piles

Based on the plane strain finite element method,the soil arching effect between anti-slide piles used in reinforced slope has been studied in this article.It is found that the direction of the maximal principal stress of soil near piles become declining and form a shape of arch,which demonstrated that soil arching efrect generated by anti-slide piles effectively. In the scope near piles,the stress of soil obviously migrated to anti.slide piles,and the load of piles transferred from soil become less when pile spacing becomes larger.In a certain degree,it is difficult to found the formula of pile spacing considering with soil arching effect exactly.
