摘要

This paper outlines the recent studies on the nanoclay infused epoxy and fiber reinforced epoxy composites.Nanophased EPON 828 epoxy samples were prepared using magnetic stir mixing with nanoclay loading up to 3%.For the fabrication of fiber reinforced composites SC-15 epoxy system was used after sonicating it with nanoclay.EPON nanocomposites were subjected to dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA),tensile,flexure,and static and high strain rate compressive loading.The fiber reinforced epoxy composites were subjected to DMA and flexure studies.In both cases,the highest improvement in properties was obtained for 2% loading of nanoclay.
