Numerical simulation was performed to investigate the cavitation phenomenon of cryogenic liquids through a verturi tube.The governing equations of multiphase flow with cavitation model involved as well as numerical conditions and procedure were first presented.Several flow characteristics were numerically calculated including volume fraction of gas phase, pressure distribution and velocity fluctuations. Various factors influencing on cavitating flows, such as velocity, pressure and subcooling at the inlet of tube, were investigated. Liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen were taken as the working fluids respectively in the simulation.Well accordance was found between our simulation and the experimental measurement conducted by Harada et al.
