In view of the causes of overturn accidents of the railway bridge erection machines, we designed a system for preventing overturn of the bridge erection machine. This system can detect the real-time transverse and lengthways obliquity while the bridge erection machine is in motion, which can reflect the compactness of the roadbed, forecast whether the bridge erection machine can pass safely, and consequently avoid overturn that might have been caused by the disfigurement of the roadbed.
