The Chinese traditional residence contain abundant humanistic environment,space, art of composition and culture ,which provide the worthy things and new measures for the design of the modern residence.the article analysis the space of traditional residence courtyard and combine the case of the Chinese traditional residence design to research the function of the courtyard used in the modern residence.
