A Study on the Development Planning for a Village in the West Mountain of Beijing

摘要

This paper discusses the planning and design issue of Jiangoucun (Jiangou Village) in the West Mountain area of Beijing. It investigates and analyzes the conditions of this area, and builds on an integrated planning scheme including the master plan and the implementation plan.Aiming at to echo the government's policy in developing 'a new socialist countryside',the study focuses on the combination of the plans at different level. It highlights the needs for an innovative approach in the planning initiative and the importance of retaining the rural characteristics. The knowledge built in this project can be used for the planning of other mountainous areas in the west of Beijing.
