摘要

In this paper a compact ultra - wideband antenna for applications in UWB systems is proposed. Its main characteristic is to present quasi - isotropic radiation patterns into the three main plans (xy, xz and zy). The proposed antenna can be viewed as derived from a hook dipole, which is a wire antenna of narrow band. To achieve the ultra - wideband antenna characteristics it was needed to increase in volume. Details of the proposed antenna design and simulated results are presented and discussed. Its small dimensions and easy construction is very attractive. This antenna also can be applied in network sensors, field measurement or electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The simulation was made using the commercially available simulation software CST Microwave Studio.
