A called New-Degrading Tri-linear hysteretic constitutive model, based on test data, was basically developed to define the inelastic dynamic response of stories in lumped-mass multistory RC structures. To confirm the appropriateness of this model to element members (columns, beams and beam-column assemblies) test data of some structural RC elements were used. The model concerns only the bending springs that represent the hinge mechanism at element ends. The characteristics of the model's envelope are evaluated on the basis of the concrete and steel material properties, the element members geometry and the distribution of reinforcement. The model was acceptably applied.
