CBERS-02B satellite, launched in Sept 2007, carries three optical payloads which include HR camera for acquiring high resolution remote sensing images. Its GSD is 2.36metre and swath width is 27km. It features a three mirror anastigmatic (TMA) optical system along with TDICCD placed at the focal plane. During the development procedure, its performance and parameters were strictly tested in the corresponding environment to ensure its on-orbit imaging quality. Now its images are successfully applied for earth resource survey, city's programming, disaster's monitoring, and photograph measurement. This paper presents the design and development procedure of the camera as well as its on-orbit performance.
