Modifier for Increasing Output and Reducing Gauge Variability in LLDPE Blown Film

The melt strength of LLDPE is enhanced by adding 1 to 3 wt % of a LLDPE-based masterbatch from DuPont. Use of the additive increases output by up to 50% on blown film lines limited by bubble instabilities. Increased resistance to thinning during drawing may also reduce gauge variation and allow downgauging of up to 20%.
