This paper deals with the problem of unreliable assembly disassembly (A/D) network system. In such a system, multi products are proecascd in sequences of lots with a predefined order. Buffers are assigned between machines in order to minimise the impact of blockage and starvation phenomena on the whole system. Those blockages and starvations interruptions are due to both,the network unbalancing and the propagation of the machines failures effects. A powerful algorithm is developed in order to evaluate the system performances, and to help designers making a suitable location and allocation of buffers stocks and an optimal sequence scheduling in order to maximise the production rate of the system. The proposed hybrid model consists of two main tools: the first one generates, by means of discrete events simulation, modified mixed sequences of real and virtual products. Those virtual products correspond to the effects of machines' failures. An insertion heuristic is developed to build those modified sequences. The second tool is an analytical linear programming model developed to evaluate performances of reliable mufti products A/D network systems. The combination of these two tools leads to a hybrid computational algorithm able to evaluate performances of unreliable mufti products A/D network systems.
